![]() ![]() ![]() The fact that most of the reviews here are negative should be enough to steer you away from this program. I let family and friends pressure me into this decision and I will tell you, never again. The fact that they constantly talk about it being like “brick and mortar” (a phrase I didn’t think I could hate so much until I started this ** program) should have told me all I needed to know. I should have known that when they sent me a bunch of boxes that the workload would be entirely too much. He’s only 5 years old and my daughter is only 6 yet they have PAGES of work for them to do in only one day? I wanted to try and give it the rest of the week but we barely made it through two days without MULTIPLE meltdowns, my daughter absolutely flipping out and a bunch of unwanted emails for every little thing I do that they deem “wrong.” It’s not worth it, even in the slightest. Yesterday morning he was brought to tears because of how much work they were expecting of him. My son is neurotypical and he still tells me “Mommy I’m bored.” The entire time. The workload agitates my kids and makes it to where they both become disinterested in learning. My son will sit and learn for a maximum of 3 hours if I’m lucky and my daughter I have to try and coax into adhering to their strict 7.5 hour requirement for school attendance and out of the couple days that I’ve been in the program, I’ve had to pull them out repeatedly. If someone recommends you to this place, run for the hills.Īll in all, my kids hate it. An important thing to note is that if you use a loaner laptop (I’m not sure if this applies to personal computers) they will hack your webcam and microphone and utilize it to spy on you when your student is doing something elsewhere. You can try to give them answers but they’re just like those people who are always trying to scam you about your car’s extended warranty, they will probably bust down your door if they have to. Taking a bathroom break? Haha, you thought, here’s k12. Working? You better not be because k12 is calling. You could give these people answers a hundred times over and they will still pester you. Now let’s move on to the way they pester you: Every little thing is a freaking email, phone call, or text. ![]() And you read that right, this all happened within a span of 48 HOURS. I also thought we’d be starting class and that my kids would be met with a teacher but instead I (the “learning coach”) have had to be their teacher for the past two days. ) I informed them that my daughter has ASD and they threw her into the regular curriculum anyway. So flexibility where? Accidentally log into your learning coach account? Their attendance doesn’t count and they will be emailing you about it. Every morning so far we’ve had to attend a ** orientation for an entire hour that’s MANDATORY. Sure you have lunch and “recess” but you MUST be back on their terms. You are required to log in at the same time every day and remain so for 7.5 hours, just sitting in front of a laptop. Let’s start with the false advertising of “flexibility”: there is none. ![]()
